How much does it cost to hire a personal injury lawyer?
Most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis. That means the client does not pay any fees unless and until the attorney obtains compensation for the client. In a contingency fee arrangement, the attorney will also usually advance the costs of the case, such as court filing fees or expert witnesses fees. Once compensation is obtained, the attorney will deduct his or her fee, usually a percentage of the client’s total recovery, as well as reimbursement for any expenses.
